Simplifying A Complex Member Record

A complete member record in one responsive interface

EPPF needed a clearer way for staff to review a large amount of member information without losing the terminology they already use. We completed and expanded an approved dashboard direction, bringing the member record into one responsive interface that is easier to navigate.

Problem

The existing dashboard direction did not yet reflect the full operational record. Important financial and statutory information still needed to be added, but placing every field on screen at once would have made the interface difficult to scan.

The design also had to preserve EPPF’s established headings and data labels. Staff already knew this language, so changing it would have introduced unnecessary friction into a familiar process.

Solution

We expanded the dashboard into a more complete view of the member while keeping the approved visual direction intact. Related information was grouped into clear sections, with expandable panels controlling how much detail appears at one time.

The summary gives staff an immediate view of the member. Detailed records remain close at hand when the task requires them, without competing for attention from the start.

Working Context

The member profile formed part of the wider CRM suite V2 Digital was developing for EPPF. Our assignment focused on how staff would see and use the member record, while V2 Digital remained responsible for the backend and the development of the complete CRM environment.

The dashboard needed to give staff a 360-degree view of a member. Personal information, financial records and supporting activity had to feel like parts of one profile rather than separate systems.

The master information would come from external sources, so the core member data had to remain clearly read-only. Operational actions needed their own place without making displayed values look editable.

Information Architecture

The member’s identity remains visible at the top of the interface. Beneath it, the record is organised into Summary, Member Information, Financials, Beneficiaries and Statutory sections.

Documents, activities and case management follow the core profile. This gives supporting records and operational actions a clear place without flattening every type of information into the same level.

Progressive Disclosure

The Summary section opens first, while detailed records remain inside expandable panels until they are needed. Staff can move directly to the relevant part of the member record without scrolling through every field along the way.

This keeps the information complete without allowing its volume to control the experience.

Familiar Language

Clarity did not require renaming the work. We retained the supplied headings and field names, then improved the hierarchy around them so staff could keep using language they already recognised.

The interface becomes easier to use through structure, not by asking the organisation to relearn its own terminology.

Responsive Design

On desktop, the layout uses the available width to make structured records easier to scan. On smaller screens, field groups stack into one column and wide tables remain accessible through controlled horizontal movement.

Expandable sections and generous touch targets help the same member record remain manageable on tablets and phones.

Prototype

The delivered work is a front-end prototype using realistic sample data. It demonstrates the proposed information structure and interactions for the implementation team, but it is not connected to live member records and does not provide production authentication or data security.

Simulated actions show where future CRM functions would sit. This gives stakeholders and the implementation team a practical reference without presenting unfinished functions as live.

Results

The completed prototype gives EPPF a clearer picture of how a detailed member profile can work inside the CRM. It brings a complex record into a calmer interface while respecting the language and working patterns already familiar to staff.

The result is a more complete design reference for implementing and integrating the member-profile experience within the CRM suite.
